Pawlica presents new products in its new exhibition stand

BoMill, Siemens and Jesma – those are three of the new brands Pawlica s. r. o.  has added to its product portfolio and presented at Techagro 2016. And these weren’t the only news from the company. The firm also presented visitors with its brand new modern and very eye-catching stand.

This year Pawlica s. r. o. has extended its range to include JESMA industrial weighing technology, SIEMENS measurement and control systems and BOMILL qualitative grain sorting machines. The firm presented these new products at Techagro in Brno, which was held from 3rd to 7th April. It also entered two of its products into a competition for the best exhibit - the Techagro 2016 Grand Prix. The products it entered were a TriQ 30 bonitation sorter and Stela BiTurbo sweetcorn dryer, which also represent the very latest technology.

STELA dryers have been one of the main products offered by Pawlica s. r. o. for a long time now, as well as BIN and BROCK grain silos, RUBERG grain cleaners, SKADNIA, JE-MA and HUTCHINSON conveyor systems and PFEUFFER laboratory instruments.

Economical drying with BiTurbo

The BiTurbo dryer is an original concept that uses a two-stage drying method, with the drying air at different temperatures. In the first phase, when large quantities of moisture are released, the produce is dried with air at a lower temperature than usual. The second phase uses air that has been pre-warmed by cooling grain that has already been dried, which, in contrast, is heated to a higher temperature. This gives greater drying power while using considerably less drying air, the benefits of which include lower specific energy consumption, less damage to the dried product and lower dust emissions.

The technology used to heat the dried crop is an original system manufactured by Stela. Using a combined system that heats the crops at two different temperatures and a counter-current process air flow dries the grain more evenly and damages it less. The biggest advantage, however, is the specific energy consumption achieved by this process, which operational tests have shown to be 3.319 MJ/ kg  (0.92 kW/kg) of evaporated water, which is an average of 15 % less than solutions offered by the firm’s competitors. TSP emissions in humid air discharged into the atmosphere are also considerably lower.

Revolution in sorting grain by quality

The modern equipment used for sorting grain by quality produced by BoMill are based on unique radio frequency identification technology in combination with near-infrared spectroscopy, which enables the individual grains to be sorted by quality (protein content, glassiness and grains affected by Fusarium pathogens). No other company offers this solution.

Pawlica s. r. o. offers two models on the Czech market. The first is a TriQ grain sorter, suitable for sorting on a large scale. This is made from high quality standard components with a well-documented history. The modular design concept guarantees that the facility is highly reliable, easy to install and capable of continuous operation in an industrial environment. TriQ is ideal, for example, for mills, malt houses and silos that want to exploit the full potential of their grain. As Managing Director Ing. Petr Pawlica says, the TriQ sorter will not only eliminate grain infestations, but will also result in higher production quality that cannot be achieved in the warehouse. “From my professional perspective this is a REVOLUTION in sorting GRAIN FROM GRAIN!” he adds.

The sorting speed is fully compatible with the needs of the grain handling industry. The equipment can sort from 3 to 30 metric tons of grain per hour.

The second BoMill product on offer and presented at Techagro was the IQ bonitation grain sorter. This is a laboratory machine able to analyse each kernel using NIT and sort it according to its chemical composition. The capacity of the IQ bonitation grain sorter is 1000 kernels/min. Hard wheat, wheat and barley are standard crops and each crop has its own special separation disc.

The IQ grain sorter can be used by nurseries to monitor specific characteristics such as hardness, protein content, starch levels, etc. It can also be used to improve seed stocks by removing damaged or infected kernels to ensure that seeds are good quality and healthy for the purposes of propagation or official tests. The IQ bonitation grain sorter is ideal for mill or malt house research or development laboratories, where it can easily be used to check large-scale sorting on a small scale using the TriQ technology.

The IQ sorter is now installed in the in the laboratory of the Mendel University in Brno and can analyse external samples upon request.
